Hi there and welcome (or welcome back) to Lamar Middle School & Fine Arts Academy.

The Lamar PTA is so glad you’re here. It’s going to be an exciting year.

I’m Edward Bradfield and I’m the PTA President.

I’m also the proud father of three kids, two of whom are at Lamar in 8th and 6th grades. I have been so blessed to meet so many parents, teachers, administrators, kids and others through my involvement in the PTA. I hope you will join us.

The PTA is a group of volunteers that work hard to help families engage with Lamar teachers and staff. We advocate for our kids and empower everyone to have the best middle school experience possible.

Volunteering is easy and can be at whatever level of involvement you want. We have members who volunteer for an hour a year. And we have volunteers who chair committees and spend a bit of time each week. No matter what time commitment you are willing to volunteer, we appreciate any and all volunteers.

This year we are launching new programs including getting more dads, grandfathers and community leaders on campus, we are working to bring back Lamar Fest, bringing back the ultra-successful after school clubs in which we provide incentives to the teacher/sponsors, we assist in school dances, keep the campus clean and beautiful, support teachers and staff with gifts and meals, plan and sponsor end-of-year trips and field days, help with campus volunteers in the lunch-room, bathroom and hall monitors and so much more.

We’re going to have a wide range of apparel and merchandise for sale too.

Keep an eye out for our Love Lamar campaign happening at the beginning of the school year. It’s our biggest fund-raiser of the year.

Please reach out to me at president@lamarpta.org with any questions you may have. We’d love to have you as a part of our Lamar PTA Team!
