Calling all volunteers!  We are looking for volunteers to fill the following positions.  Reach out to president@lamarpta.org if you are interested in volunteering.

LamarFest Chair – Oversees LamarFest and leads the LamarFest committee. The chairperson will book vendors and food trucks. With help from the committee, they will coordinate sponsorship, volunteers, performances, and activities.

Scottie Super Star Chair – Scottie Super Stars is a student recognition program that celebrates Lamar students who demonstrate kindness, character, and positive behavior—especially when no one is watching. Staff members nominate students who exemplify respect, empathy, responsibility, and good citizenship.

Keep Lamar Weird Dance Thingy Chair – Coordinates and plans the spring student dance.

Fundraising Chair – Refines fundraising strategy as needed and coordinates with all event committees to implement it throughout the year. Lead sponsor strategy and engagement and also organize and track overall fundraising activities.

Sponsorship Coordinator – Partner with the Fundraising Chair to align PTA Sponsor investments and benefits to event set-up (event signage, booths, and goods). Work the Event Chairs to identify any event-specific sponsorship and donation needs, communicating those back to the Fundraising Chair. Understand and coordinate within existing annual sponsor commitments.

Legislative Liaison – A member of the advocacy committee. The Legislative Liaison helps to keep PTA Members up to date on current issues of state and national PTAs, and can provide an input into the Advocacy Chair’s plan with recommendations on speakers and education for the PTA General Body, actions for the Executive Board, etc. Coordinate with ACPTA and TXPTA on Rally Day during legislative years.
